                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN ON
                   SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22, 1990, FROM 9:00 A.M.
                   TO 11:00 A.M., FOR THE PRESENTATION OF "THE
                   JINGLE BELL RUN" SPONSORED BY THE GREATER
                   CHATTANOOGA BRANCH OF THE ARTHRITIS
                   FOUNDATION.

       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of the northbound curb lane of Market Street
       between the Chattanooga Choo Choo and 12th Street, the westbound
       curb lane of 12th Street between Market Street and Carter Street, 

       the northbound curb lane of Carter Street/Chestnut Street between 

       12th Street and 2nd Street, the eastbound curb lane of 2nd Street 

       between Chestnut Street and Market Street, and the southbound 
curb
       lane of Market Street between 2nd Street and the Chattanooga Choo 

       Choo on Saturday, December 22, 1990, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 
a.m.,
       for the purpose of presenting "The Jingle Bell Run" under the
       sponsorship of the Greater Chattanooga Branch of the Arthritis
       Foundation provided that the sponsors shall set out and pick up
       all flasher barricades, traffic cones, and traffic signs in
       accordance with the traffic control plan attached hereto and 
shall
       provide, at all times, an access lane for fire and other 
emergency
       vehicles.
